The current Stepo icon already has the right idea — four pills climbing like stepping stones. It is literally the product, it's geometric and ownable, and it speaks the same pill/chip language the ultimate UI is built from. What dates it is the execution: glossy gradient, soft drop shadows. The zigzag line in the mocks' top bar was a placeholder, never a branding decision. Recommendation: B for the store icon, its mini form for the in-app wordmark.
Same motif, four skins — judged at 1024-class and down the size ladder to Spotlight (29 px), where an icon earns its keep.
The only test that matters — among neighbors, at 60 px, on a dark wallpaper. B carries the brand orange; C disappears until you notice the lit pill, then it's the most interesting icon on the screen.
Now live across all screens: the ink-and-paper mini mark in the top bar, and the same pills as the Feed tab's glyph (the brand mark as "home", the X pattern) — orange never enters the chrome.
Ink mark, paper pills — the quiet default, matches the current top-bar treatment.
With the lit pill — a whisper of the 24h mechanic in the chrome. Pairs with C.
